The East London Mosque is delighted to announce the return of the popular 5km community fun run for 2017 which will take place on 17th September at Victoria Park in East London. The mosque committee has urged everyone to join for this fun run and help raise funds for good causes across the globe. The run itself is for men and boys of all ages, and of any faith or none; however, all are welcome at the park on the day. As part of the preparation, a press conference took place at London Muslim Centre on 5th September where the leaders presented the details of this huge event.
Secretary of East London Mosque and Muslim Centre Ayub Khan read out the written press note. Executive Director Dilowar Khan and Treasure Abdul Malik answered to questions from the audience. They urged everyone to take part in the charity run and help the mosque loan free.
The press release read that East London Mosque has organised highly successful fun runs in Tower Hamlets in each of the last five years, helping to improve health and to raise funds. The objectives are to promote healthier lifestyle and to help other Muslim charities raise funds for good causes
They also said that this is a perfect opportunity for charities to get people involved, especially those who are passionate about keeping fit and active, or those who simply want a healthier lifestyle. Thje fundraisers will be seen by hundreds of people on the day of the race, and everyone who sponsors will learn more about the good work you do. This event gives great exposure, helps to build your reputation, and encourages people to donate to your cause. The minimum fee to register can easily be met by fundraisers; in the past an average of £300 was raised per participant.
There will be four categories this year like last time. These are 12 years and under, 13-17, 18-34, 35-50 and 51 and over. The winners will get prizes. Interested person are requested to register their name by visiting http://www.muslimcharityrun.com/ website or by ringing 020 7650 3000.
Each approved charity will be guaranteed places for the run; a minimum registration fee of £20 per person for 20 placeswill goes towards the cost of running the event. Charities will have greater engagement with their stakeholders through this fun event, raising funds alongside others in a spirit of cooperation.
This is set to be one the biggest Muslim charity runs, building on the five years of success. Hundreds of runners are expected from all age groups, from children to senior citizens. The run will take place in Tower Hamlets’ Victoria Park, recognised for its heritage, sports facilities, walkways and lake, on Sunday 17th September 2017.
