British Education Award recently organised a press conference with Bangladeshi media in a restaurant in Brick Lane. It was told at the press conference that British Education Award is something different in the hustle of numerous numbers of awards. As this award maintains complete mainstream standard, the nominations are coming from British college and universities and the committee shortlists the nominations with maximum clarity.
The first British Education award took place in London last year. This year it will take place in Hilton Hotel in Manchester on 31st of January. The British Education Award Committee discussed the success of 1st award ceremony and how the local media can influence and help to make it even more successful.
Even though there are many awards in different sector, there was no mainstream award for education. Hence Media activist Amin Babor took the initiative to organise this. He mentioned that if everyone co-operates, This award ceremony will take place in Scotland, Wales and in other main cities in the UK.
First Governor of Manchester University of Bangladeshi origin Md Habibullah JP addressed the audience at the press conference. British Education Award Team member and Community activists Md Shamim Ahmed and Faruq Ahmed were also present at the conference.
The organisers told that there will be 20 awards on four categories from five UK regions. 50-60 candidates will be initially shortlisted from the total nominations.
Drawing the attention of Bangladeshi community, the organisers said that Bangladeshi students can also apply for the award.
