Complaint of cutting trees in Jhenaidah Municipality

Jhenaidah municipality has found the charges of cutting of trees. The incident happened in Jhenidah municipality’s Ward No. 159 at Pabahati Mauja in the municipality’s Udaipur village.

A complaint has been filed in Jhenidah Municipality about this. According to the municipality sources, from the beginning of Udaypur road of municipality No. 1 to Motiar Rahman Secondary School, 4 bobla trees and 30 palm trees on both sides of the road were cut.

There is no permission from the municipal authorities to cut trees. In this matter, the municipal authorities charged 5 people of Udaipur village and gave them a notice asking them to cut trees.

When talking to Anwarul and Abu Zafar of Udaipur village, they said that the incident of similar incidents of kidnapping of robbery in Udaipur village has been going on for a long time.

There have also been incidents of murder. Because there is no house around the road and the open ground, criminals hide behind the bushes of the road and snatch away other valuable items including money, mortar and motorcycle from the people returning home at night.

So we decided the villagers cut these trees. But we have not received any permission from the municipality. According to the municipality’s panel mayor and ward commissioner of ward Zahidul Islam, several trees on both sides of the road were cut off from the beginning of Udaypur road of Ward no. 1 to Matiar Rahman Secondary School.
