The mobile court has fined 12 motorcycle drivers for not wearing helmets in Jhenaidah. On Monday afternoon, the district administration assistant commissioner and executive magistrate Sohel Sultan Zulkar Nine Kabir gave the sentence.
According to the court, mobile courts conducted raids in the city to prevent the casualties and increase the awareness of motorcycle drivers. In the afternoon, a number of motorcycles were detained for not having used helmets while riding a motorcycle in the city’s modern court.
Among them, BGB, lawyers, doctors, army and police personnel and political leaders were not excluded. Later, according to Section 1983 (137) of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance, 12 drivers were fined and the rest of them were released. At the time 6 helmets were seized.
The operation will continue, court judge Sohail Sultan Zulqar Nine Kabir said. Meanwhile, the court has fined 2 thousand taka according to the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009, owner of Taj Baker of City Bagerhat, Nur Ali, for making food for the unhealthy environment.
