Nojibur Rahman to become principal secretary to PM

Md. Nojibur Rahman, Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), is going to be appointed as principal secretary to the Prime Minister.

A reliable source of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) confirmed the matter to on Thursday (December 28).

Md. Nojibur Rahman will succeed Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, who was appointed as the principal secretary on November 27 in 2016. His tenure will expire on December 31.

Nojibur Rahman was born on December 31 in 1960 in Sunamganj.

A 1982 batch Bangladesh Civil Services officer, he worked at the forest and environment ministry and the planning ministry’s statistics and informatics division prior to his job as the NBR chief.

He also served as director general of the Department of Environment.

He is set to go on PRL (post retirement leave) from December 30 in 2019.
