A Gono Forum spokesperson on Sunday said their MP-elects will only take oath if BNP MP-elects also decided take oath as members of the parliament.
Following a meeting of the Oikya Front steering committee, Mostofa Mohsin Montu, general secretary of Gono Forum made the statement to the media on Sunday.
However, no definitive decision has been taken regarding what course of action the MP-elects of the Jatiya Oikya Front will take.
“We will sit again to decide whether we take oath or not. If we eventually do decide to go to parliament, then all of our MP-elects, even from the BNP, will take oath together,” Mostofa Mohsin Montu, told the Dhaka Tribune over phone.
The Gono Forum spokesperson, in a press release, also said there was no disagreement between alliance members of the Jatiya Oikya Front.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at a press briefing on Thursday said MP-elects from the BNP will not be taking oath as members of the parliament.
