Subir Nandi’s body taken to Shaheed Minar

People from all walks of life started gathering at the Shaheed Minar to pay their last tribute to their revered singer. Hundreds of his admirers, friends and well-wishers would bid farewell to Subir Nandi here.

Noted politicians, teachers, cultural activists, journalists and common people would also pay their homage to him at the Shaheed Minar premises.Later, his body will be taken to FDC, Channel I office and Ramakrishna Mission Temple premise.

Then, in afternoon, his funeral will be done at Borodeshwari Kali temple’s crematory in Sabujbag area of the capital.

Earlier, the body of eminent singer Subir Nandi, was brought in Dhaka airport from Singapore around 6:45am by a flight of Regent Airways.

Then, the body was taken to 25/C, Green View Apartment, his residence at Green Road.

Noted singer Subir Nandi breathed his last on Tuesday early morning at a hospital in Singapore.

The Ekushey award-winning musician was flown to Singapore for better treatment on April 30. He was admitted at MICU of Singapore General Hospital.Earlier, he had been receiving treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka for 18 days.

The singer was admitted to CMH on April 14 after suffering a heart attack en route to Dhaka from Sylhet.

He was subsequently transferred to the hospital’s Coronary Care Unit (CCU) as his condition worsened.
