President returns home after health check-up

Dhaka, May 26 : President Abdul Hamid returned home on Sunday after an 11-day visit to London and Germany for health check-up and treatment of eyes.

“A VVIP flight (BG 202) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the President landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:26 am,” President’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told UNB.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Agriculture Minister Dr Md. Abdur Razzaque, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, Dean of Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Vatican to Bangladesh Archbishop George Kocherry, British High Commissioner in Dhaka Robert Chatterton Dickson, Ambassador of Germany to Bangladesh Peter Fahrenholtz, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam, chiefs of the three services, Prime Minister Office (PMO)’s Principal Secretary, Foreign Secretary, Inspector General of Police (IGP) and high civil and military officials received the President at the airport.

He completed his health checkup at Bupa Cromwell Hospital and treatment of eyes at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and another medical check-up at Frankfurt in Germany.

The President left Dhaka for London on May 15.
