FIFA, AFC qualifiers: Bangladesh ready to take on Laos Thursday

Dhaka, Jun 5 : Bangladesh National Football Team are ready to play their away match for the joint qualifications for FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 against Laos on Thursday at the National Stadium in Vientiane, Laos.

The match will kick-off at 7pm (BST).

After the away match, Bangladesh will play their home match against the same opponent on June 11 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka at 7pm.

Bangladesh Head Coach Jamie Day said, “It is going to be a tough match due to the opposition’s strength. I am looking forward tomorrow’s game on how we perform.”

Bangladesh captain Jamal Bhuiyan said, “Laos is a good team. But we have a good preparation. We are ready for tomorrow’s match.”

The booters passed a busy schedule on Wednesday in their last training session at the National Stadium in Vientiane, Laos.

Earlier, a 31-member Bangladesh team reached Bangkok on May 24 to prepare themselves for their home and away basis joint qualifications for FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 against Laos.

The team reached Laos on June 3 after successfully completing their 10-day preparation camp in Bangkok.

During their stay in Bangkok, Bangladesh played two preparatory matches against two Thai professional football clubs as a part of their preparations.

In their first practice match, Bangladesh played to a 1-1 draw with Air Force United FC on May 28 at the Air Force playground in Bangkok. Biplu Ahmed netted the lone goal for Bangladesh.

But Bangladeshi booters outplayed BG Pathum United FC by 3-0 goals in  In the 2nd practice match at Leo Stadium in Pathum Thani on June 1.
Tawhidul Alam Sabuz netted two goals while Arifur Rahman scored other goal for Bangladesh team. The team will return home from Laos on June 7.
