One killed as wall collapses after blast in city

Dhaka, June 10 : A man was killed and three others were injured as a portion of a wall collapsed on them following an explosion in a building at Kadamtoli of Shanir Akhra here on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Farid Ahmed, 55, son of late A Jalil of Fulgazi in Feni while the injured were Kamal, 45, Saidul, 30 and Jakir, 35.

Kadamtali police station officer-in-charge Jamal Uddin Mir said the wall collapsed on a number of pedestrians following an explosion at Exim Bank’s store room located on the 3rd floor of the building at 9:30am, leaving Farid, a cap trader, dead on the spot.

The 2nd floor of the building was also partially damaged due to the blast.

The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hosptial (DMCH).

Among the injured, Kamal was the manager of Haque Bakery and Sweets, said Rafi, a salesman of the bakery.
