UKBCCI Trade Mission assured of government support

Dhaka, June 16 : The visiting delegation of UK-Bangladesh trade catalyst, the UKBCCI Trade Mission had a successful meeting with Hon’ble Minister of Industriews Mr. Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun MP this afternoon where they discussed on investment potential in different industrial sectors in country.

The Industries Minister thanked the UKBCCI trade mission and reaffirmed all out help and cooperation from the government side in fulfilling their prospect. Government offers preferential privileges and is quite keen on the importance of foreign investment in driving the country towards a better tomorrow for all, he added.

UKBCCI Chair Iqbal Ahmed OBE DBA thanked the industry minister for his support and said they are willing to explore opportunities in ICT, garments and other manufacturing, infrastructure, engineering, construction, logistics, banking, tourism, financial services and many other consumer sectors with the view to enhance life of the people and bring prosperity to all. Besides, a presentation was made by the UKBCCI delegation explaining their investment plan across the length and breadth of existing economic arenas.

UKBCCI President Bajloor Rashid MBE on the other hand, detailed on the positive responses they are having from meeting important leaders from public and private sectors, secretaries and leaders of business bodies like BIDA, FBCCI and the others and initiate further possibilities in the aforesaid sectors.

Meanwhile, the UKBCCI Trade Mission had a fruitful meeting with Managing Director Ms Hosne Ara Begum of Bangladesh Hi-tech Park Authority (BHTPA) this afternoon where they discussed on investment potential in the evolving IT sectors in country.

The Managing Director of BHIPTA welcomed the UKBCCI trade mission and said, while she was in the UK, she had called upon them all to invest back in Bangladesh, especially in the IT sector and reaffirmed all out help and cooperation from the government side in fulfilling their prospect. BUIPTA also made a presentation detailing the scopes and opportunities in the IT sectors where the UKBCCI could confidently tap in.

UKBCCI Chair Iqbal Ahmed OBE DBA thanked the authority for her invitation and said they are willing to explore big opportunities in ICT which is driven by a generation of talented youth and IT innovators. They are also viewing to make their footprints in other consumer sectors to enhance life of the people and bring prosperity to all.
