Masud Al Razi, SUST Correspondent : Police arrested five students for their alleged involvement in fraudulent activities during the admission test for ‘B’ unit of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) for the academic session 2018-19 on Saturday.
Additional deputy commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Jeddan Al Musa said, `One from Moin Uddin Adarsh Mahila College, one from Sylhet Government Model School and College, one from Sylhet Polytechnic Institute and two from Shahjalal Jamea Islamia Kamil Madrasha center are arrested. University authorities detained the digital device with the fraud. Legal action will be taken against them.’
The accused student are Ahsan Ali, Mahmudul Hasan, Ibrahim Khalil Jibon, Muhaiminul Islam Khan, Saad Muhammad, all are hailing from Bogura District. Calculators with SIM cards and chips were seized from them also their bodies were fitted with various devices.
Through which they were collecting answers to various questions, said Musaddak Hussain Chowdhury, head of BBA Department.
Shahjalal Science and Technology University’s first year admission test is held today. Admission test was held for unit ‘A’ from 9.30 am to 11 pm and unit ‘B’ from 2.30 pm to 4 pm. Due to the rainy days, students who came to SUST admission tests and their parents are suffered.
