Three people, including a rescuer, were killed and at least 25 others injured when a passenger bus plunged into a road side ditch at Damuda upazila in Shariatpur on Tuesday morning.
The rescuer Julhas Molla, son of Khalek Molla, from Kulkuri village of Damuda municipality, died of cardiac arrest.Eyewitness said that the accident took place at 9:00 am when a Shariatpur-bound speedy passenger bus fell into the road side ditch as its driver lost control over the steering at the area, leaving one dead on the spot and 26 others injured.
Later, the injured are being treated to different hospitals including Damuda Upazila Health Complex. But one of the injured died on the way to Dhaka.
Md Mohaiminul Islam, additional superintendent of police (Gosairghat Circle), confirmed the matter.
