3 cops hurt in ‘attack’ at Hobiganj check post, 2 held

Habiganj Correspondent : Three policemen were injured when miscreants attacked the law enforcers at a check post at hilly area in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj on Wednesday night.

Injured—ASI Ziaur Rahman, Constable Sanwar Hossen and Ruhul Amin—are undergoing treatment at Habiganj Adhunik Hospital.
The law enforcers arrested two attackers with pistol, bullets and motorcycle after the incident.

The arrestees were identified as Sobhan Mia of Narsingdi district and Baejid Bostami.

Investigation officer of Madhabpur police station Golam Dastogir Ahmed said that the police team gave signal to a motorcycle, carrying two people, to stop when it was passing the check post around 9:00pm. But ignoring the signal the motorcycle riders attack policemen with sticks.

Later, the law enforcers arrested the criminal with arms, he said.
