18-feet long python captured in Bagerhat

An 18-feet python was recovered from a house at Madhyo Sonatala in Sharankhola  upazila on Thursday.

Local people captured the python, weighing 80 kg, from the orchard of one Kabir Munshi at the village in the evening, said Alam Hawladar, a field officer of Sharankhola  Wildlife Team of the Forest Department.

Later, the python was released in the Sundarbans at night, he said.

Mohamamd Mahmudul Hasan, divisional officer of Sundarbans East zone, said a total of 20 big and small size pythons were recovered in the distirct this year and released in the Sundarbans.
