Shomoyer Alo senior reporter Habibur killed in road crash

Daily Shomoyer Alo senior reporter Habibur Rahman was killed in a motorcycle accident in city’s Hatirjheel area early Wednesday.

Habibur Rahman was also a former organising secretary of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU).

A motorcycle carrying the reporter hit hard a footpath at Begunbari area around 1:45am, leaving him critically injured, said Hatirjheel Police Station SI Enamul Haque.

Later, a pedestrian took Habibur Rahman to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty physicians declared him dead.

Hailing from Cumilla, Habibur Rahman, 40, left behind wife and a son. He was the son of Mohammad Piar Miah.

He graduated from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Dhaka University.
