Two ex-students detained for ‘sending money to SUST protesters’

SUST Correspondent ■ The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday night detained two former students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) for sending money to the protesting students.

The detained students  are Reza Noor Muin of the Architecture Department and Habibur Rahman of CSE of the university.

Reza Noor was detained because he sent money to the demonstrating students, thinks his wife Jakowan Salwa Takrim, also a former student of SUST,

Reza was picked up from capital’s Uttara area at about 7:30pm on Monday.

Later, the CID team came to the house of Reza to hand over his vehicle to her and told her Reza is  going with them to the CID headquarters for questioning, Takrim added.

She said, “We just wanted to help our juniors as seniors but we had no political motive behind it”.
