New CEC pays tribute to national heroes

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul has paid tributes to the martyred freedom fighters at National Memorial in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka.

The new CEC paid homage placing wreaths at the memorial at 10:10am on Tuesday.

The four other election commissioners Begum Rashida Sultana, Brigadier General Ahsan Habib Khan (Retd),  Senior Secretary (Retd) Md Alamgir and Senior Secretary (Retd) Anisur Rahman were also present there.

 

They observed a one-minute silence at the memorial.

After signing the visitors’ book, CEC Habibul left the place.

On February 27, new CEC and four other Election Commissioners took oath.
