Offices, banks reopen after Eid vacation

All government and private offices, banks, stock markets and other financial institutions in the country reopened on Thursday after Eid-ul-Fitr vacation.

This year, the government employees got six-day holiday at a stretch. April 29 and 30 were weekly holidays, May 1 was public holiday for May Day and May 2, 3 and 4 were public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr.

After opening the office today, there is another two days weekly holiday.

However, the attendance of officials at the Secretariat in Dhaka was poor.

Banking transactions will run from 10 am-4 pm from today. However, the offices will go on till 6 pm.

Trading in the stock market will continue from 10 am to 2:30 pm.
