Govt won’t obstruct BNP to hold Dhaka rally: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said the government will not obstruct BNP to hold its mega rally in Dhaka on December 10, but mass people would give them a befitting a reply if they play any game with arson and poles.

He made the remarks while inaugurating the triennial council of Pirojpur Awami League unit virtually on Sunday from his official residence in Dhaka.

AL general secretary Quader said Chhatra League’s council has been rescheduled for December 6 instead of December 8 under the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina so that BNP can hold their rally peacefully.

Mentioning BNP as a terrorist party, the AL general secretary said a Canadian court has declared BNP as a terrorist party. Their politics is being engaged in arson attacks in the name of the movement, he added.

You cannot make him leader who fled to London on bond under the condition of not doing politics, said Quader adding that the time of deceiving people is over.

About BNP’s demand of the caretaker government, the AL general secretary said, “Which country in the world has a caretaker government? It is your leader who said that no one is neutral except mad and children.”

He said the caretaker government is banned by the court, and it is now in the museum.

Quader said that there is no benefit of dreaming about the caretaker government. Next general election will be held in Bangladesh in the same way as it is being held in different countries across the world.

Criticising BNP’s rally in Cumilla city, the AL general secretary, said, “What is the result of much talk about Cumilla rally? Drought of people was seen there. Where did the wave and throng of people go? It would be known in Dhaka rally that how many beans make five.”

AL Advisory Council member Amir Hossai Amu was present as the chief guest in the council with Pirojpur AL President AKMA Awal in the chair.
