BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s death risk is very high, said her medical board on Monday.
“She needs liver transplant immediately and this facility is not available in Bangladesh. The treatment she is currently receiving is adhoc treatment. We’ve done all that we can. She needs to be taken abroad urgently for advanced treatment.,” said Prof FM Siddiue, member of the BNP chief’s medical board of the Evercare Hospital, at a press conference.
” Khaleda Zia could collapse anytime, as she has been suffering from several critical diseases, including liver cirrhosis,” said Dr Shahabuddin Talukder, chief of the medical board.
FM Siddiue said that TIPS is necessary to stop water from being accumulated in her stomach and chest and internal bleeding.
Another board member voiced concern that high doses of antibiotics are not working on Khaleda due to their frequent use.
BNP Chairperson has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital under the supervision of a 15-member medical board, led by specialist doctor, Professor Shahabuddin Talukder, since August 9.
She has been suffering from various ailments, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung, heart, and eye problems.
