Asif Mahmud to contest polls as independent candidate

Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan has announced that he will contest the upcoming national election as an independent candidate from Dhaka-10.

He made the declaration in a Facebook post on Friday morning.

In a video message, Asif said, ”The opportunity to determine the future of Bangladesh has come after 17 long years. Building a new Bangladesh is difficult but not impossible. We must move beyond the politics of division that has persisted for generations and work toward establishing a welfare-oriented state for every citizen.”

”Implementing a new social, political, and geopolitical framework is essential.”

He further added, ”The path would be challenging, but was inspired by the sacrifices of Motiur Rahman, Taramon Bibi, Noor Hossain, Felani, Abrar Fahad, Abu Sayed.”
