Father of the Bengali nation, Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman never compromised with anyone on the matter of independence of Bangladesh. He sacrificed his life for the welfare of Bangladesh. Today, his daughter Sheikh Hasina is leading the nation with utmost proficiency. The speakers told this in a meeting organised by UK Awami League to observe 42nd death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The discussion meeting and Duwa Mahfil took place at Atrium Hall in East London on 15tgh August which was presided by President of UK Awami League Sultan Mahmud Sharif.
Other guests who addressed the audience included former parliamentarian Syeda Jebunnessa Haque, former President of Bangldesh Chatro League Liakoth Shikdar, Vice-president of UK Awami League Alhaj Jalal Uddin, Syed Mojammel Ali, Shamsuddin Master, Harmuj Ali, Sitab Chowdhury, Joint Secretary Maruf Ahmed Chowdhury, Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, Organising Secretary Sajjad Miah, Abdul Ahad Chowdhury, former General Secretary of Bangladesh Chatro League Siddiqi Najmul Alam and others.
The meeting was conducted by Acting General Secretary of UK Awami League Nayeem Uddin Riaz.
Khatib of Brick Lane Jame Mosque Maolana Jillur Rahman Chowdhury conducted the Milad and Duwa Mahfil praying for the incorporeal souls of Banganadhu and others who died on that black day.
