Bangladesh High Commission in London observes 42nd death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

Bangladesh High Commission in London observed 42nd death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to commemorate the assassination of the nation’s founding leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

In the morning the Bangladeshi flag was lowered to half mast. Later the Bangladeshi High Commissioner in London Md. Nazmul Quaunine and other High Commission officials placed wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Other political parties such as UK Awami League, UK Jubo Mohial Awami League, London Awami League and Muktijodhha Shangshad also placed wreaths on the portrait of father of the nation.

Messages from Bangladeshi President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister and State foreign minister were also read out as part of the activities.

Later on that day President of UK Awami League Sultan Mahmud Sharif, Vice-president Syed Mohammel Ali, Vice-president Shamsuddin Master, Vice-president Jalal Uddin, Expat Welfare Secretary Ansarul Haque, Acting General Secretary Noimuddin Riaz, General Secretary of UK Jubo League Jamal Ahmed Khan, General Secretary UK jubo Mohila League Sajia Sultana Snigdha, former Mayor of Brent Council Parvez Ahmed, Enamul Haque and Biman Mollik took part in the discussion which focused on Bangabandhu’s struggled life.
