3 of a family found dead in Habiganj

Police arrest Farid Uddin, husband of Rumena Akter, for his alleged involvement with the incident

A woman and her two children have been found dead in Boro Bakoi area under Nabiganj upazila in Habiganj.

The deceased are Rumena Akter, 30, her son Musa Miah, 6, and daughter Muslima Akter.

Police arrested Farid Uddin, husband of Rumena Akter, for his alleged involvement with the incident.

Nabiganj police station OC Liakat Ali said: “Locals noticed the hanging body of the woman inside a house and her son and daughter’s bodies floating in a nearby pond around 9am on Sunday.”

Being informed, police went to the spot and recovered the bodies around 11:15am. The bodies were sent to Nabiganj police station, he said.

Police suspected that the women might have committed suicide after killing her children, added the OC.
