50 injured in Habiganj land dispute

At least 50 people have been injured during a clash over an abandoned land of the government dispute at Azmariganj upazila of Habiganj.
Of the injured, 15 were admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital, said Azmariganj OC Taimur Bakth Chowdhury.
The OC said there was a long-standing dispute between Abdus Shahid and Sabaj Miah over a piece of abandoned land of the government in Shibpasha village.
As a sequel to the enmity, the duo and their supporters attacked each other with lethal weapons on Thursday morning, leaving 50 of both groups injured, he said.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Additional police were deployed in the area to avoid further trouble, said the police official.
