Seamark Group is one of the largest seafood and agriculture product processing and exporting organisation in the world now. Recently, Standard Chartered Bank organised an agro award giving ceremony where Seamark Group won the best Agricultural Exporter Award.
Iqbal Ahmed OBE, Chairman and Chief Executive of Seamark Group, received this award from Agricultural Minister Begum Motia Chowdhury.
Other guests who were present at the award ceremony included Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr Ataur Rahman and Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank Abrar A Anwar.
Seamark Group won this award for their contribution in agro processing and exporting.
Point to be noted that Iqbal Ahmed, Kamal Ahmed and Belal Ahmed brothers created Seamark Group in 1976. This group has now established itself as one of the largest seafood and agriculture product processing and exporting organisation in the world. Seamark Group has their own fishing trawlers for deep sea fish catching, own fish processing plant in Chittagong, processing plant in Manchester, sales centre in New York.
Seamark group exports around 400 million dollars annually of which 60 million is exported from Bangladesh.
