United Arab Emirates (UAE) started their AFC U-16 group-D qualifiers with a 6-1 victory over hosts Bangladesh at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday, UNB reports.
Abdullah Al Naqbi put UAE ahead in the 12th minute of the match by a sliding right footer from the top of the six yard box off forward Mohmed Al Khamis pass, 1-0.
UAE skipper Majed Rashid extended the lead in the 18th minute drilling a low shot into the far post net from unmarked position utilizing a Hamad Jashim low-curved cross pass from the right flank, 2-0.
Defender Sultan Saeed scored the third one in the 22nd minute by a header, jumping off his marker off a curved corner pass of Ali Saleh Amro, 3-0.
Al Saleh Amro scored the fourth in the 39th minute capitalising a low cross off Mohamed All Khamis and placing the ball into the roof of the net, 4-0.
Sarwar Zaman Nipu scored the only goal for Bangladesh to reduce the margin in the 52nd minute utilising a right footer back pass off midfielder Shawon, 4-1.
But the four goal cushion was restored off a penalty in the 62nd minute with Majed Rashed converting from the spot, 5-1.
Emirates skipper Majed Rashed completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute scoring the sixth goal converting a free kick from about 35 yards out of the post. Majed curved the ball into the far post net beating the outstretched hand of Bangladesh goalie Nur Alom, 6-1.
Earlier in the first match, Bangladesh under16 football team conceded a 5-1 goals defeat against Saudi Arabia at the same venue on Wednesday.
UAE will take on Saudi Arabia in the last group-D match at the same venue on Sunday (September 20).
