The political leaders in Bangladesh lack trust and reliance.  To take the country forward, we all need to work together and work selflessly.  Opposition Leader in Bangladesh Parliament Rowshan Ershad MP told this in a facilitation meeting on 1st November in Water Lily in East London.
She also said that, to take the country forward, political leaders need to be follow self-sacrificing leaders like Hossain Shohid Showrowardi, Sher-E-Bangla A K Fazlul Haque, Mowlana Bhashani and Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.  It is a matter of worry that a significant number of people in Bangladesh still live in poverty. This is due to the natural disaster in Bangladesh.  Because of this, the development is hindered again and again. Otherwise Bangladesh would have developed a lot more.
She also said that Jatio Party believes in sustained development. A country needs a strong opposition for its sustained growth and so is Jatio Party doing, as a strong opposition in parliament, by helping the government.
The Leader of the Opposition also emphasised that, Bangladesh is running Westminster style democracy.  Jatio Party is criticising the government as well as helping the government in development work, which is fundamental policy of a democracy. She also said that BNP has made a mistake by not taking part in the election.  If they took part in election, either they would have formed a government or become the main opposition.  Rather than doing this, they started killing and burning people.
She also said that we don’t believe in extremism or and believes in zero tolerance as the present government. Answering to a question from a senior journalist, Rowshan Ershad said that Jatio Party wants trial of all war criminals and in Bangladesh it is taking place transparently.  About the comment made by Amnesty, she said that Amnesty’s statement frustrated us and it is an attack to our sovereignty, we wholeheartedly denounce it.
UK Jatio party, Greater London Jatio Party, Jatio Aainjibi Party, Chatro Somaj and Jubo Sanghati jointly organised this meeting to felicitate Begum Rowshan Ershad, Opposition Party Whip in parliament Selim Uddin MP.
