Sunamganj District Welfare Association organises its award giving ceremony

46Sunamganj District Welfare Association recently organised its 2015 award giving to successful achievers of GCSE and A level in a colourful and vibrant mood.  30 successful students from different schools were given award by MP, Mayor, Councillors and community leaders.  The event took place in Royal Regency Banqueting Hall in Newham on 13th December.
Thousands of expats from Sunamganj took part in the award giving ceremony and made the event even livelier.
President of the Association and former VP of Sylhet MC College Iqbal Hossain presided over the ceremony.  The first part of the event was conducted by General Secretary of the Association Barrister Fajlul Haque.  The second part, which featured the award giving, was conducted by Dr Roab Uddin Ahmed, Aramn Ali, Niajul Islam Chowdhury and Anwar Kamal Dulal.  Finally Juber Akhtar conducted the cultural event.
Format Shadow Minister and MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, Rushanara Ali MP attended the event as Chief Guest.  Special guests in the event included Executive Mayor of Tower Hamlets John Biggs, Spear Cllr Abdul Mukit Chunu, Howard Dove of Canary Wharf Group, former Mayor Abdul Aziz Sardar, Matinuzzaman, Daras Ullah, Cllr Mahbub Alam, Cllr Khalis Uddin Ahmed, Cllr Abdul Montakim, Cllr Shah Alam, Former Leader Helal Abbas, former Councillor Helal Rahman, former Councillor Abdal Ullah, BBCA Precident Yafor Ali, Senior Vice-President Haji Rafique Mian, Chief Editor of Weekly Janomot and Curry Life Syed Nahash Pasha, Columnist Syed Farid Ahmed Reja, Editor of Weekly Bangla Post Tareq Chowdhury, Editor of London BD news  Jakir Hossain Koyes, Prothom Alo representative Tobarukul Islam Parvez, Hefajul Karim  Raqib and Abdul Hannan.
Guests who handed over the awards included Abdul Shahid, Ahbab Miah, Shafique Ahmed, Kayum Mian, Milik Chowdhury, Sanaor Ali Koyes, Engineer Habibur Rahman, Shah Sanaor Hossain, Mahbubul Haque Shirin, Shahin Khan, Abdul Malik Kuti, Askar Ali, Maolana Helal Uddin, Badrul Chowdhury, Niajul Islam Chowdhury, Abul Kalam Azad, Lilu Mian Talukdar, Masum Mian Talukdar, Akikur Rahman Khan, Joynal Abedin, Raju Miah, M A Qayum, Heven Khan, Kaji Masum, Mojahid Khan, Shamim Alam and others.
Maolana Lutfur Rahman recited from the Quran in the beginning.
Rushanara Ali MP praised Sunamganj Distric Welfare highly for their active encouragement of students for achieving good results.  She also assured the organisation for any types of future co-operation.
