View exchanging at Sylhet Press Club- Abdul Karim Goni: Journalists are the pioneers of our society

Editor of UK based newspaper Bangla Mirror and online news portal Sylhet Mirror Abdul Karim Goni said that the new dimension in journalism created by the Sylheti journalists in UK is praiseworthy. While exchanging views with journalists at Sylhet Press Club on Thursday the 18th of February, he also said that journalists are the pioneers of our society.

Chief Editor of British Bangladeshi Who’s Who Mr Abdul Karim Goni sought constructive role of media in attaining national progress as Bangladesh is now on the way to development and making its endeavour towards flourishing democratic process. It is our sacred responsibility to nourish and foster this development process through concerted efforts so that a happy and prosperous country is established, he added. Abdul Karim Goni, who is also a social worker, urged mediamen to come forward in materialising hopes and aspirations of the people of Bangladesh.

The gathering was addressed among others by Managing Editor of Sylhet Mirror Mohammed Zilu Miah, General Secretary of Sylhet Press club Abdur Roshid Renu, Ex General Secretary Mohammed Sirajul Islam, Assistant Secretary Ikbal Mahmud, Managing Director of Excelsior Syed Chowdhury, London Correspondent of Daily Jugantar Gulam Mostafa Faruk, Special Correspondent of Channel S Abdul Malik Jaka, Executive Editor of Daily Kazirbazar Syed Sujat Ali, Eminent writter Dinul Islam Babul, President of Sylhet Oversees Correspondents’ Association Khaled Ahmed, Sylhet Correspondent of Daily Khoborpatro M A Motin and Sylhet Correspondent of SA TV Abdul Alim Shah.
The meeting was presided over by the President of Sylhet Press club President Ikramul Kobir Iku. Assistant Editor of Sylhet Mirror Enamul Haque Renu moderated the view exchange meeting.
