Absence of Taskin and Arafat Sunny is undoubtedly a massive shock for a team like Bangladesh. Especially, what happened with Taskin seems totally unbearable for the captain Mashrafee Bin Mortaza.
While asked about Taskin at a press conference at Chinnaswami Stadium in Bangalore on Sunday, Mashrafee cannot help tearing.
He repeatedly pronounced one word ‘injustice’ when he talked about Taskin related issues.
Moreover, the suspension of ace pacer Taskin Ahmed for “illegal bowling action” has sparked widespread criticism from experts and fans of Bangladesh cricket both at home and abroad.
It has been alleged that the International Cricket Council (ICC) did not follow its own rules while passing out the suspension order for Taskin. Such blatant allegation against the top regulatory body of cricket deserves a deeper look into the issue.
Earlier on Saturday, The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that independent assessments on tests carried out Chennai last week have found the bowling actions of Bangladesh’s Arafat Sunny and Taskin Ahmed to be illegal and, as such, both the bowlers have been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect.
Arafat’s analysis revealed that the elbow extension for majority of his deliveries had exceeded the 15 degrees’ level of tolerance permitted under the ICC Regulations for the Review of Bowlers Reported with Suspected Illegal Bowling Actions, while not all of Taskin’s deliveries were legal.
