Govt sets export target at $67b

The government has set the export target for the current fiscal year at $67 billion, up 11 percent than that a year ago.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi made the announcement at a press briefing at his ministry in the capital on Wednesday.

Of this, $58 billion is expected to come from merchandise export and the remaining $9 billion from services.

In the just ended fiscal year 2021-22, the target was fixed at $51 billion, but the actual exports were more than $60 billion.
