4.3 magnitude quake jolts Dhaka

An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 jolted Dhaka and its adjacent areas on Friday morning, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

The quake hit around 5:57am and lasted eight seconds. According to the United States Geological Survey website, the quake’s epicentre was 14 kilometres East South East (ESE) of Dohar upazila.

No casualties or fire hazards were reported immediately.
