Indefinite transport strike in Sunamganj postponed

Getting an assurance from the deputy commissioner, Sunamganj District Bus, Minibus and Microbus Workers Union has postponed their indefinite strike.

General secretary of the union Nurul Islam confirmed the transport postponed matter on Monday.

Earlier on May 21, the workers called the strike for an indefinite period to press home their three-point demand.

Deputy commissioner Didare Alam Mohammad Maksud Chowdhury met with the union leaders on May 27 (Saturday). District Awami League president Nurul Huda Mukut, general secretary Noman Bakht Polin, police super Ehsan Shan were present, among others.

Nurul Islam said the deputy commissioner assured of accepting their demands which are equitable. Then, the leaders postponed their strike programme.
