Govt to open new missions in 5 countries to strengthen political ties: Asif

Bangladesh has taken an initiative to set up new diplomatic missions in five nations to strengthen political ties with Europe and South America, expand trade and involve Bangladeshi expatriates in the development process.

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shajib Bhuyaan disclosed the information in a post on his verified Facebook account on Monday.

In the post, Asif Mahmud stated that, in light of the evolving geopolitical landscape, global economic realities, and Bangladesh’s graduation from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken the initiative to establish missions in five countries.

“These missions will be established in Dublin of Ireland, Oslo of Norway, Buenos Aires of Argentina, Frankfurt of Germany and Sao Paulo of Brazil.”
