Turkish Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Berris Ekinci, conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, along with an official invitation for him to visit Türkiye at a mutually convenient time.
The message was delivered during a courtesy call at the State Guest House Jamuna on Tuesday.
Professor Yunus welcomed the invitation, expressing his willingness to visit Türkiye in the near future. The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and explore new avenues for collaboration in education, healthcare, and technology.
“This is my first visit to Bangladesh,” Ambassador Ekinci said, appreciating the warmth and hospitality extended to her delegation.
Highlighting the strong historical and cultural ties between the countries, Professor Yunus said, “We want to take our relationship higher than ever. This is a new beginning after the July Uprising, and our two countries can work together in many areas such as education, healthcare, and technology.” He also thanked Türkiye for providing free medical treatment to seven Bangladeshis injured during the July Revolution.
Ambassador Ekinci reiterated Türkiye’s ongoing support for Bangladesh’s development initiatives, emphasizing educational programs, scholarships, and student exchange opportunities.
The meeting was attended by Senior Secretary and SDG Coordinator Lamiya Morshed, Bangladesh Ambassador to Türkiye M. Amanul Haq, and Director General of the East Europe and CIS wing Md. Mosharaf Hossain, underlining both nations’ commitment to strengthening ties and cooperation.
