Pedestrian dies as metro rail bearing pad falls on him at Farmgate, services halted

A pedestrian died after a bearing pad of metro rail fell on him in the capital’s Farmgate early afternoon on Sunday.

According to the eyewitnesses, the victim man, aged around 35 to 40, was walking through the footpath. Suddenly, at about 12:15PM, a metro rail bearing pad fell on his head. Then he died on the scene.

His identity is not confirmed yet.

Meanwhile, metro rail services were suspended temporary due to the technical glitch.

Tejgaon Police Station ASI Md Hannan confirmed the death news.

A large number of onlookers gathered at the scene soon after the incident.
