Khaleda Zia admitted to Evercare Hospital

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has been admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for a series of medical examinations.

She was admitted on Sunday night around 8:10 pm, confirmed Zia’s personal physician, A Z M Zahid Hossain, adding that the hospital admission follows recommendations from the medical board assigned to monitor her health.

“She has been admitted for specific tests in accordance with the board’s advice. She is staying in a private cabin, and the board will decide on further steps after reviewing the test results,” he said.

The 79-year-old leader left her Gulshan residence, Firoza, at 7:30 pm to head to the hospital.

She had previously been admitted to Evercare for one day on October 15, also for health evaluations.

Khaleda Zia has long been dealing with multiple health issues, including arthritis, diabetes, lung and eye problems.
