Submission of nomination paper deadline ends at 5PM, 3,114 collected

The deadline for the submission of nomination papers in the upcoming national election sets to expire at 5PM on Monday (December 29).

After the deadline, all nomination papers received by Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) must be forwarded immediately to the respective ROs along with the required security deposits.

According to the EC schedule, scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted from December 30 to January 4. Candidates may file appeals against RO decisions from January 5 to January 9, while hearings and disposal of appeals will take place between January 10 and January 18.

Party-backed candidates must submit official endorsement certificates, while independent candidates must provide a supporter list equal to 1 per cent of the constituency’s voters.
