Mahmudur Rahman Manna hospitalised

Mahmudur Rahman Manna, president of Nagorik Oikya, has been taken to a hospital after experiencing chest pain.

This was confirmed on Friday night (16 January) by the party’s central committee member A. Razzak Talukder Sajib.

He said Manna felt chest pain at around 11pm and was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), popularly known as PG Hospital, for treatment.

Doctors are currently conducting medical examinations, he said, adding that the exact cause of the chest pain will be determined once the test reports are available.

Earlier in September 2024, Manna was hospitalised after suffering a heart attack.

The party had also said that he experienced a heart attack while in prison following his arrest in 2015, when doctors later found multiple blockages in his heart.
