Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has said the government is committed to building a country free from drugs, terrorism and juvenile gangs, drawing inspiration from the successful anti-cheating campaign in his constituency.
Speaking to journalists on Friday afternoon (20 February) in Kachua upazila of Chandpur, the minister said initiatives would begin locally before being expanded nationwide.
“Kachua will be made free from drugs, terrorism and eve-teasing. Just as the journey against examination malpractice began here, this new campaign will also start from Kachua,” he said.
He added that an anti-corruption drive would also be launched from the upazila and implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
“The Bangladesh of tomorrow will be built under the Prime Minister’s leadership,” he stated.
Milon was elected with a large majority from the Chandpur-1 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
Chandpur Deputy Commissioner Md Nazmul Islam Sarkar and Superintendent of Police Md Robiul Hasan, along with other civil and law enforcement officials, were present at the event.
