Indian envoy meets PM’s adviser on bilateral issues

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Kumar Verma on Thursday met Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon to discuss bilateral cooperation, regional stability and issues of mutual interest between the two neighbouring countries.

The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere, according to Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.

During the discussion, both sides focused on the long-standing friendly relations between Bangladesh and India and explored ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

They exchanged views on a range of key issues, including regional stability, trade, connectivity and development cooperation.

The adviser and the Indian envoy also highlighted the importance of maintaining close engagement between the two countries to advance shared interests and promote prosperity in the region.

Both sides expressed optimism that the strong ties between Bangladesh and India would continue to deepen in the coming days.

They reaffirmed their commitment to working together for the welfare of the people of both nations, based on mutual respect, trust and cooperation, Rony added.
