Gold price falls for 3rd consecutive day, now Tk262,265 per Bhori

Gold prices in Bangladesh have dropped for the third consecutive day, with the price of the highest quality 22-carat gold reduced by Tk2,685 per bhori (11.664 grams).

The new price has been set at Tk262,265 per bhori, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).

BAJUS said the revised price would come into effect from 10:00am on Saturday.

The decision was taken following a decline in the price of acid gold (raw gold) in the local market. The price adjustment was finalized during a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring.

Under the new pricing structure, the price of 21-carat gold has been reduced by Tk2,508 per bhori, bringing it down to Tk250,368. The price of 18-carat gold has fallen by Tk2,157 to Tk214,618 per bhori.

Meanwhile, gold produced through the traditional method has also become cheaper, with the price reduced by Tk2,158 to Tk174,785 per bhori.

Alongside gold, the price of silver has also been reduced. The new price of 22-carat silver has been set at Tk6,065 per bhori. In addition, 21-carat silver now costs Tk5,774 per bhori, 18-carat silver is priced at Tk4,957 per bhori, and traditional silver has been set at Tk3,732 per bhori.

Earlier on Friday, BAJUS had also reduced gold prices by Tk2,158 per bhori and silver prices by Tk392 per bhori. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold stood at Tk264,948 per bhori, while 22-carat silver was priced at Tk6,357 per bhori.

With the latest adjustment, gold prices in the local market have been revised 43 times so far this year, with 26 increases and 17 reductions recorded.
