Abdur Rahman Sani named PM’s Dhaka-17 representative

Abdur Rahman Sani has been appointed as representative of Dhaka-17 parliamentary constituency on behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The appointment aims to facilitate the daily affairs and needs of the constituents, as Prime Minister Tarique Rahman now holds office as the head of the Government of Bangladesh.

The announcement was made Monday afternoon through a letter published on Facebook page of BNP media cell.

The letter, signed by the Prime Minister’s Chief Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar, confirms Abdur Rahman Sani’s role as Dhaka-17 representative.

According to the letter, “Tarique Rahman, elected as the Member of Parliament from Dhaka-17, has taken the oath as the Honorable Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. To manage the day-to-day activities of the constituents of Dhaka-17 parliamentary seat, Abdur Rahman Sani, Assistant Private Secretary-2 to the Honorable Prime Minister, has been appointed as the representative of this constituency.”

In the 13th National Parliamentary Elections held on 12 February, Tarique Rahman contested from both Bogura-6 and Dhaka-17 and won.

He later chose to vacate Bogura-6 seat and took the oath as the MP for Dhaka-17.
