Moon-sighting meeting on Thursday to fix Eid day

The National Moon Sighting Committee will meet on Thursday at 6PMpm to determine the date of Eid-ul-Fitr for 1447 Hijri and sight the Shawwal moon.

The meeting will be held at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

State Minister for Religious Affairs Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad will chair the meeting.

In a statement the Islamic Foundation requested that anyone who sights the Shawwal moon anywhere in the sky over Bangladesh inform the committee through the designated telephone numbers or notify the deputy commissioner or Upazila administrator (UNO) in the relevant district.
