Legal notice seeks travel ban on Dr Yunus

A legal notice has been sent to the relevant government authorities seeking a ban on the departure of outgoing interim government Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus from the country.

The notice was issued on Monday by M Ashraful Islam, a lawyer of the Supreme Court.

The notice was served over allegations of involvement in transferring the measles vaccination programme from state management to the private sector.

It also calls for travel restrictions on all advisers of the interim government’s advisory council, including Dr Yunus.

Lawyer M Ashraful Islam disclosed the matter in a Facebook post, stating that he had sent the legal notice seeking a ban on the foreign travel of Dr Yunus and other advisers.

He also accused them of alleged involvement in the “unlawful and harmful” shift of vaccination services, such as measles, from the public to the private sector.
