The government has reduced airfare for Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims by Tk24,830 for the 2027 Hajj season, bringing the fare down to Tk130,000, Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain Kaikobad announced on Tuesday.

The minister made the announcement at a press briefing at the Secretariat while unveiling the government’s Hajj packages for 2027.

He said the government had approved two Hajj packages under the official management system for the upcoming pilgrimage.

Under the first package, the minimum cost has been fixed at Tk505,648, while the second package has been set at Tk615,263.

The minister said the reduction in airfare compared with last year’s Hajj package would help ease the financial burden on intending pilgrims.

He also urged that the existing 1 per cent backup accommodation provision for Hajj pilgrims be retained to ensure smoother management of accommodation during the pilgrimage.

The government is expected to issue further guidelines regarding Hajj registration and related procedures ahead of the 2027 pilgrimage.
