President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will move into Bangabhaban, the official presidential residence, on Sunday, according to the President’s Office.
The president will leave his government residence on Minto Road for Bangabhaban at 10:50am, marking the beginning of his formal stay at the presidential residence.
Mirza Fakhrul took the oath as the country’s 23rd president at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban on Friday evening.
Acting Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Kaiser Kamal administered the oath.
The oath ceremony formally completed Mirza Fakhrul’s assumption of office as president.
Mirza Fakhrul, who served as BNP secretary general for a long period, stepped down from the party post after his election as president.
He won the presidential election held on Thursday with 255 votes.
Senior state officials and invited guests attended the oath-taking ceremony at Bangabhaban on Friday evening.
