Young woman dies by suicide after leaving note

A young woman died by suicide in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred in Narayankhetra village under Ward No. 5 of Munshibazar Union around Thursday (September 10) morning. Police recovered a handwritten note from the scene.

The deceased was identified as Jesy Chowdhury,18, daughter of Jamal Chowdhury of the village.

According to local sources, family members found Jesy hanging inside the house on Thursday morning. She was later taken down. The news of her death left her relatives and local residents in shock.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Rajib Roy of Kamalganj Police Station confirmed the incident, saying police went to the scene after receiving the news and recovered the body. The body was later sent to Moulvibazar 250-Bed Hospital for autopsy.

The exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy report, he added.
